Hey! I’m Kara! I started at Microsoft as a Product Designer, translating complex enterprise requirements into clear, accessible experiences. Recently, I transitioned into Product Management, where I continue to focus on design while working across research, product strategy, and implementation to shape experiences that work for the people using them.
My path into UX began with coaching Special Olympics and working in journalism. Both taught me to listen before assuming, communicate with intention, and recognize that what people ask for isn’t always what they need. Those lessons continue to shape how I approach problems and design solutions.
I graduated from Purdue University in May 2026 with a B.S. in User Experience Design, a minor in Psychology, and a certificate in Collaborative Leadership. Today, I help build tools for global users, including legal professionals and law enforcement, making complex enterprise cloud information easier to navigate and understand.
Away from the screen, you’ll find me racing across sand dunes or exploring somewhere new.
I don't just design the idea. I use AI coding tools to build it, test it, and ship it.
Proof: this portfolio. I designed it in a system of reusable components and styles, directed an AI coding assistant to build it, iterated on every detail (navigation, layout, copy), and shipped it to a GitHub repo. No template.
